The Captioned Photo Carousel is a content row that uses images and text in a carousel. The Captioned Photo Carousel is different from the Photo Carousel in that the text changes with each image. In the Photo Carousel, only the images change.

The Captioned Photo Carousel is used for testimonials, featured events, and quotes.

Adding/Editing the Captioned Photo Carousel

Step One

If you are editing an existing Captioned Photo Carousel, select 'Edit' on your landing page, then find the drop down labeled 'select-photo-nav'. Select the drop down to open the content row.

To add a new Captioned Photo Carousel row, select the green plus symbol of the content row you wish to place your new photo nav underneath. Cascade will refresh, and you will see a new Content Row with a blank value field.

Select the drop down labeled 'Select value...' and find and select the 'Captioned Photo Carousel' option.

From here, you can begin adding/editing your content.

Step Two

Add a Title for your Carousel. Next, you will need to type a URL-friendly (all lowercase, and dashes in place of spaces, no special characters) version of the title in the 'Photo Carousel ID' field. The Photo Carousel will not work or even appear on your page without, or with an incorrectly formatted, Carousel ID.

Step Three

Choose the first image for your carousel using the 'Choose file' button. At this point, your image(s) will already need to have been uploaded to your site's 'Images' folder. If you need assistance uploading images, please review the Uploading Images article.

For the Photo Carousel and Captioned Photo Carousel, you also must  pay attention to your image's dimensions. Directly above the 'Choose file' button, are the necessary image dimensions: 1600x950 px. You will need to make certain that your slide images are sized appropriately before uploading and using them in the Photo Carousel(s).

Use the right hand fly out menu to navigate to your site's 'Images' folder and select the (properly sized) image you wish to use for the first Carousel slide.

You will also need to add alt text describing the image for accessibility.

Step Four

Add 'Photo Carousel Text' and 'Photo Carousel Sub-Text'. The first field for text will appear on your page as large font, and is designed for names or titles. The Sub-Text field is space to further explain the slide (quotes, brief event description, etc.) Too much text in this Content Row will make the image too large and the slide won't work. The Sub-text field can hold 1-3 sentences before negatively affecting the size of the Content Row.

Step Five

Use the green plus sign to the right of the 'Photo Carousel Slide' text to add another slide. Cascade will refresh, and you will see a blank 'Photo Carousel Slide'. Repeat steps 2-4 to add content to your new slide. As you add slides, you can use the green plus sign to add new slides, the red x to delete slides, and the up and down arrows to rearrange slides in the row.

Step Six

Follow the steps to preview the draft, submit, and publish.
