What is Sa11y?
Sa11y is an accessibility quality assurance tool available on supported Cascade CMS websites. It helps content editors identify common accessibility issues before publishing content.
Why don’t I see the Sa11y button?
Sa11y is only available on supported Cascade CMS websites.
If your website is hosted in WordPress or another platform, or if Sa11y has not been enabled for your Cascade website, the assistant will not be available.
If you believe Sa11y should be available, contact Web Services.
Does Sa11y replace DubBot?
No.
Sa11y reviews the page you are currently editing before publication.
DubBot scans your published website and reports issues across the entire site.
Both tools should be used as part of your regular publishing workflow.
Should I resolve every issue before publishing?
Resolve all errors whenever possible.
Warnings should be reviewed carefully, as some require editorial judgment and may not always indicate a problem.
Can I ignore warnings?
Some warnings identify content that requires manual review rather than automatic correction.
Read the explanation provided by Sa11y before deciding whether any action is necessary.
Does Sa11y automatically fix issues?
No.
Sa11y identifies potential accessibility issues and provides recommendations, but it does not modify your content automatically.
Do I need to run Sa11y every time I edit a page?
It is recommended that you run Sa11y whenever you:
- Create a new page.
- Make significant content updates.
- Add images or tables.
- Prepare a page for publication.
Does Sa11y check my entire website?
No.
Sa11y reviews only the page you are currently editing.
Use DubBot to review accessibility and website quality across your entire website.
Can I customize Sa11y?
Some settings and preferences are available through the Sa11y Assistant.
Certain options may be managed centrally by Web Services and may not be available to individual editors.
Where can I get additional help?
If you have questions about Sa11y or need assistance resolving an accessibility issue, contact Web Services or review the related Accessibility articles in this Knowledge Base.
