Overview
Sa11y includes several settings that allow you to customize how the assistant behaves while reviewing your content.
These settings affect only your experience while using Sa11y and do not change your website or published content.
Opening Settings
To access Sa11y’s settings:
- Open the Sa11y Assistant while editing a page in Cascade CMS.
- Select the Settings icon.
- Review the available options and adjust them as needed.
Available settings may change as Sa11y is updated.
Common Settings
Depending on your website’s configuration, you may be able to:
- Enable or disable specific accessibility checks.
- Show or hide visual overlays.
- Adjust how issues are highlighted.
- Enable additional developer information.
- Customize the appearance of the assistant.
Some settings may be managed globally by Web Services and cannot be changed by individual editors.
Best Practices
For the best editing experience:
- Leave accessibility checks enabled.
- Review both errors and warnings before publishing.
- Restore default settings if results appear unexpected.
- Avoid disabling checks simply to hide reported issues.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see the Settings option.
Some websites may use a simplified Sa11y configuration or have certain options disabled by Web Services.
My settings aren’t being saved.
Some preferences are stored in your browser. Clearing your browser data or using a different browser or device may reset your preferences.
I accidentally changed a setting.
Restore the default settings or contact Web Services if you need assistance.
