What is a broken image?
A broken image occurs when a webpage references an image that is no longer available. Instead of displaying the image, visitors may see a broken image icon, missing content, or empty space on the page.
DubBot reports a broken image when it cannot retrieve the image file during a website crawl.
Common causes
Broken images are typically caused by one of the following:
- The image was deleted.
- The image was renamed.
- The image was moved to a different location.
- The image was never published.
- The page references an incorrect image URL.
Fixing a broken image in Cascade CMS
- Open the affected page from DubBot using Open In > Editor.
- Locate the missing image on the page.
- Verify that the image asset still exists within Cascade.
- If the image exists, update the page to reference the correct image.
- If the image has been removed, upload a replacement image and update the page.
- If the image is no longer needed, remove it from the page.
- Publish the image (if applicable) and the updated page.
Whenever possible, select images using Cascade’s asset chooser instead of manually entering image URLs.

Verify the correction
After publishing:
